His models provide insight into the tax, environmental, growth, and income distribution consequences of specific public or private policies. He is particularly interested in the impact of local development initiatives. He has provided analysis for some of Oklahoma’s most prominent institutions including the Oklahoma Bankers’ Association, Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc., and the cities of Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Sand Springs, and Ponca City. Professional ActivitiesDr. Dean is a member of the American Economic Association and the Southern Economic Association. Prior to his graduate training, he worked in information systems for the U.S. Air Force, Electronic Data Systems and a variety of prominent Oklahoma companies. He currently serves on the Oklahoma State Board of Psychology Examiners and recently served on the operations committee for the Oklahoma Race for the Cure.
