Master of Science in Energy Legal Studies (M.S.)
Oklahoma City University and the Meinders School of Business are excited to offer this new program in Energy Legal Studies. Designed to provide an advanced base of knowledge of jurisprudence and its application in the energy industry, this program focuses on developing the student’s ability to compose, research, and perform in a judicial context within their energy related careers.
Created at the request of executives from the oil and natural gas industry who have identified this as a high priority need for education, the Master of Science in Energy Legal Studies (MSLS) will be a 30 hour degree program offered in an accelerated format with each course meeting one night a week for nine weeks, offered on campus in the evenings.

Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 based on the undergraduate degree.
- Relevant work experience is given preference.
- GMAT score of 425 or GRE score of 1000. A student demonstrating in writing a significant level of relevant work experience via a portfolio may receive a waiver of the standardized test.
- If English is not your native language, a TOEFL score of 580 may be required.
- A Statement of Purpose of 500 to 750 words addressing background in the energy industry, legal studies, business experience, and purpose for seeking the degree must also be submitted.
- A full professional resume outlining previous work experience must be submitted.
- All applicants will be reviewed on previous professional and academic experience, graduate level standardized test scores if available, and be subject to personal interviews.
