Oklahoma City Park System Study

March 2011

The goals of the Oklahoma City Park System Study were to:

1. assess the current park system with an emphasis on the role of parks in the municipal fiscal setting, and the parks safety and security

2. assess the park system within the context of a widely used set of seven measures of an excellent system developed by the nationwide Trust for Public Land

3. review the operational costs of the renovated Myriad Botanical Gardens, Bicentennial Park, and the proposed Central Park; an examination of how increases in park related costs will be absorbed into the city’s budget.
